Obituary for Lillian Lorraine Konarske

Lillian Lorraine Konarske of Royal Oak died May 14, 2018. She was 94 years old. Lorraine was born March 27, 1924 in Detroit to Florence and Preston Olsen.

We celebrate a life well lived. Lorraine and Walter met on the ballroom dance floor and danced their way through 50 years together. They also loved to travel all over the world, and they did.

Lorraine loved bowling, playing cards and getting together with her many friends. She raised her family and enjoyed every moment with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always there for everyone and took family members into her home when needed. For many years Lorraine was considered to be the matriarch of the large Konarske clan as well as the Olsen family, keeping everyone informed and in touch. The best part was she never considered she did anything special because “that is just what you do”.

Lorraine is survived by her children, Gerald (Marie) Konarske, Janet Clark, Diane (Jim) Selinske, Jane (Doug) Carvell, James (Dorothy) Konarske, and Jeffrey (Dawn) Konarske, and grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Stoelt, Megan (Jalal) Zawaideh, Jill (Seth) Peterson, Sarah (John) Franks, Jeff (Darlene) Selinske, Jamie (Trisha) Selinske, Amanda (Paul) DeFlorio, Chris Carvel, James Konarske, Michael Konarske, and Paul Konarske. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Valen, Romeo, Ferren, Judah, Lucia, Haven, Cosette, Halo, Vienne, Viggo, Wren, Tamsin, Trevor, Ryan, Alyssa, Trent, Conner, Emma, Brayden, Wyatt, Emmaline, Rhett, Dillon, Lyndon, and 2 yet to be born. Lorraine is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter Konarske and brothers, Gordon and Bob Olsen.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Wednesday, May 30th, 3-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 2225 E. Fourteen Mile Road, Birmingham, Thursday, May 31st at 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Burial will be in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
