Obituary for Yvonne M. Curtis

Yvonne Marie Curtis of Sterling Heights, died March 11, 2020. She was 65 years old. Yvonne was born June 8, 1954 in Detroit to Esther (nee Monte) and Ernest Dagostini.

She had a 20-year career at DME in Madison Heights and was always willing to help people in need. When her boys were young Yvonne took in four different people in need with varying circumstances. They were all kids and lived with the family for a couple years. She had a special way of making you feel like everything would be okay.

Always the life of the party, Yvonne loved Disney World almost as much as anything not related to her family. She was very fond of Tinker Bell. Christmas was her favorite holiday as she loved giving and receiving nice gifts. She was into grand gestures as evidenced by her buying her grandkids a large play set before they could even walk.

She was family-first and put the needs and wants of her sons before hers. She loved her grandkids with all of her heart. Her home is basically a collection of kid art work and pictures of the kids. A loving and devoted Mom and Grandmother, Yvonne never missed a sporting event, school event, or anything important going on in her sons’ lives.

Yvonne also had a passion for art. On any given weekend throughout the summer she could be found frequenting local art fairs. A number of the local artists knew her by name and eagerly showed her their latest designs. Her home was lovingly adorned with her finds and each piece had a story to tell.

A woman of great devotion, she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by all.

Yvonne is survived by her sons, Jason (Lisa) Curtis, David (Michelle Pusta) Curtis, and Jon (Mickell) Curtis, their father, David Curtis, and her grandchildren, Brianna, Jacob, Emily, Jolene Pusta, Madelyn, and Maverick Curtis. She is also survived by her sisters, Debbie (Tony) Richards and Ann (Jerry) Kolinski, uncle Bob (Barb) Monte, aunt Lottie Dagostini.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads) Sunday, March 15th, 2-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Church of the Transfiguration, 25225 Code Road at Ten Mile Road, Southfield, Monday, March 16th at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.
