Obituary for Wilma D. Kempf

Wilma D. Kempf, of Pinckney, formerly of Birmingham, died June 19, 2016. She was 87 years old. Wilma was born September 12, 1928, in Detroit to Flora (nee Smith) and Charles Iler.

A member of First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham since January 11, 1953, Wilma was also very involved with The Boy Scouts of America and very proud to achieve her Beaver Scout award with them. She also achieved the rank of Major in The Civil Air Patrol. She retired from the Birmingham School District, and in retirement, she loved to read, garden, and spend time with her family. Wilma was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many.

She is survived by her children, Dolores Patton, Laurel (Roger) DeLaRosa, Michele Kempf, David (the late Ann) Kempf, and Kathryn (Mike) Racinski. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Wilma is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Kempf.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads, Wednesday, June 22nd, 3-8pm. A Funeral Service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, 1669 W. Maple, Thursday, June 23rd, at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.

Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills.
