Obituary for Vincent A. Webberly

Vincent A Webberly of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Vincent was cherished by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan, and children John (Colleen), Patricia, the late beloved James, Mark (Amy) and grandchildren Brendan, Austin, Christopher and Joseph. Step-grandchildren Taryn + Sean, step-great grandchildren Anna + Dylan.

Vincent was the son of John and Anna Webberly of New York City and was predeceased by his sister Margaret, brothers-in-law Richard + Harold, sisters-in-law Dorothea and Rose, niece Catherine, and nephew Richard. Vincent leaves behind his dear brother Charles, sister-in-law Mabel, nieces Kathleen, Carol, Barbara, Donna, Maryanne, nephews John, Victor, Nicholas, Charles, Ricky, Michael, Kevin, Gerard, Robby, and many cherished great- nieces, great-nephews and their families.

Vincent grew up in New York City, an honor student and a speaker of many languages. He had a life-long love of reading and learning. A natural athlete who excelled in baseball, he remained a fan of his hometown team, The Yankees, his entire life. He graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and Pace University. He met the red-haired Joan, on his first day at General Motors on 57th Street, and so began their romance. After marriage and 4 children, they spent many successful years with GM Overseas in Venezuela, Brazil, Mexico and Michigan. They have many life-long friends that they adore.

Vincent was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a proud veteran of the United States Army.

Vincent was a devout, kind and loving gentleman who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads.) Friday, December 20th, 4-8pm with prayers at 6:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Regis Church, Lincoln at Lahser, Bloomfield Hills, Saturday, December 21st at 11:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 11am. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
