Obituary for Veronica "Ronnie" Williams

Veronica “Ronnie” Williams, a long time resident of Royal Oak died March 29, 2016 at. St. Anne’s Mead in Southfield. She was 94 years old. Ronnie was born December 18, 1921, in Detroit to Petronella (nee Visnauskas) and Charles Silanskas.

She proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII. Ronnie married John Williams on August 16, 1952. She worked as a bookkeeper for the City of Troy and was a member and volunteer at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica for 50 years.

Ronnie was an avid reader and a big fan of the Detroit Tigers. She enjoyed bowling, crossword puzzles, pinochle and attending her grandchildren’s various events.

Ronnie is survived by her children, Kathy (Sean) Murphy and Janet (Ted) Mazur, grandchildren, Erin (Jeff) Patrick, Meghan (Derrick) Jasina and Colin (Erin) Murphy and Liz and Tim Mazur, and great-grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler, Katie, and Jeramiah. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Williams.
Special thanks to the caregivers at St. Anne’s Mead in Southfield for taking such good care of Ronnie.

A Memorial Gathering will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday, April 15th, from 3-8pm. Rosary 7pm. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at the National Shrine of the Little Flower Basilica, Woodward Ave. at 12 Mile Rd., Royal Oak, Saturday, April 16th at 10am. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30am.
