Obituary for Tony LaMacchio
Tony LaMacchio January 15, 1949- February 25, 2021. Tony, was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Birmingham, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his father Antonio and mother Donna LaMacchio.
Tony LaMacchio, age 72, peacefully passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021, from a long battle with cancer. He fiercely fought with dignity and strength. He leaves behind his beloved wife Sarah of almost 42 years of marriage. Adored father of Chris (Michelle), Concetta (Kyle) Cox, Solomon (Lauren), and Everett (Jeff). Forever loved Papa, to Patrick, Robert, Alivia, Aubrianna, Vincenzo, Luca, Stella, Drew and Hannah. Loved brother to Rick LaMacchio. Fun-Loving Uncle, to Tony, Tim, Jennifer, and Tom. He was also a favorite cousin and friend to so many loved ones. The joy he bestowed on others was breathtaking.
Tony and Sarah married July, 19, 1979 in California where they fell in love, and raised a large family following the principles of their personal relationship with God. They enjoyed dancing in the kitchen, going for walks around the lake with their dog Rylee, and visiting the beaches in Florida.
Tony adored his nine grandchildren dearly, and enjoyed supporting their aspirations. He would make it a priority to attend sporting events, concerts, learn about robotic competitions, and never miss a special celebration. He loved seeing their smiles, giving big hugs, and watching them explore life.
Tony enjoyed watching golf, loved classic movies, playing softball and thoroughly enjoyed participating in theater: whether local or church. He spread his passion of helping others, through his acting, daily actions and genuine heart. His beautiful blue eyes, warm smile and infectious laugh is embedded in the minds and hearts of those who knew him. He always loved a bowl of ice cream, listening to Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash, and looking at old fashioned cars.
Tony has requested to have a celebration of life, rather than a funeral. We plan on a late spring/early summer, outdoor/luncheon celebration in Troy, Michigan.
