Obituary for Thomas O. Ganiard,Jr.

Thomas O. Ganiard, Jr. “Tommy” of Bloomfield Hills died February 4, 2019. He was 30 years old. Tommy was born July 11, 1988 in Royal Oak to Marianne (nee Smith) and Thomas O. Ganiard, Sr. He graduated from Bloomfield Hills Lahser High School in 2006.

Tommy was intelligent, sweet, caring, compassionate, funny, kind, gentle and clever. He was a terrific athlete in his own right, a cute little boy who grew into a handsome man and had a smile so bright it would light up the room. Tommy loved having controversial conversations that sparked excitement in him. He loved going to Lake Muskoka, playing hockey, baseball, golf and was curious about everything. The one constant was he was liked by all and will be terribly missed.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Marianne Ganiard, father, Tom (Pam Burbott) Ganiard and sister, Maggie (Justin Friedman) Ganiard. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Rod (Karen) Ganiard, Nancy (Kevin) Smith, and Douglas (Cheryl) Smith and several cousins and friends. Tommy is preceded in death by his grandparents, Roderick and Patsy Ganiard and Lawrence and Margaret Smith and uncle, Jamie Ganiard.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. James Episcopal Church, 355 W. Maple Road in Birmingham, Saturday, February 9th at 10am.

Memorials may be made to Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center, 13815 N. Salvation Army Lane, Tampa, Florida 33613.
