Obituary for Thomas E. Perrin, DDS

Thomas E. Perrin, DDS, died suddenly at his home in Lathrup Village, July 18, 2012. He was 86 years old. Tom was born October 20, 1925, in Detroit, to Mary (nee Whalen) and Louis Perrin.

Tom was a proud decorated soldier who served with the U.S. army in the European theatre during World War II.

After the war, Tom returned to his studies at the University of Detroit and graduated from dental school. Tom practiced dentistry in Royal Oak until his retirement in 1987.

Tom married Mary Lou in June of 1955. They raised their two children in Lathrup Village and were lifelong members of St. Bedes and Our Lady Queen of Martyrs parishes.

Tom and his family enjoyed times away at the family cottage in Port Sanilac. Tom was an avid sailor and also loved to hunt, golf, and ski. Tom and Mary Lou were long time members of the Nomads travel club and enjoyed many trips abroad and within the United States.

Tom was a son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, soldier, dentist, hunter, sailor and friend. Tom touched and influenced many lives and will always be remembered with great love.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Mary Lou (nee Johnson) Perrin. He is also survived by his daughter, Susan (James) Kant, grandsons, Matthew (Colleen) Kant, Thomas (Elly) Kant, and Daniel Kant, great-granddaughter, Lucy Kant and many lifelong friends. Tom is preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Perrin.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday 3-8pm. Rosary, Sunday 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills, Monday 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.
