Obituary for Thomas E. Edwards

Thomas Eric Edwards died December 3, 2021 in Warren Michigan. He was 72 years old. Tom was born on September 7, 1949 in Laurium. Michigan to parents, Thomas Hoatson and Edna (Erickson) Edwards.

At an early age he showed a love of music. His parents bought him an organ and he started organ and piano lessons. He played at the Elks Club when he was 12 years old once a week. Thomas also studied cello and was in the Traverse City Symphony Orchestra. He spent a summer at music camp at Interlochen Music Camp. He fell off of a skate board the day before it started and went with a broken arm but still managed to play the cello.

Thomas graduated from Traverse City Central High School and studied music at the University of Michigan. He graduated with a B.M. from the school of music. While living in Ann Arbor he played in the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra. After graduation he moved to Royal Oak where he taught piano, organ and cello lessons. He loved teaching autistic students and watching them grow through music. At the present time he was an organist at Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church in Warren, MI

Tom was a very outgoing person. He enjoying being with his friends, laughing and joking. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Tom is survived by his stepmother Elizabeth (Dave) Rollert, brother James Edwards, sister Joyce Edwards, stepbrother Kevin Plamondon, special friend Therese and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Joan Edwards.

A Memorial Service will be held in the spring at, Celtic Cross Presbyterian Church, 11451 E 10 Mile Road, Warren, Michigan 48089.
