Obituary for Thelma M. Travnikar

Thelma Margaret Travnikar died December 7, 2010. Mrs. Travnikar was born June 26, 1920 in Detroit to Ethel (Ginsburg) and Edward Brown.

Mrs. Travnikar is survived by her children, Nancy (Gary) Sharum , Fredrick (Sheila) Travnikar, James (Robert) Travnikar, Joanne (John) Davenport and Joyce (David) Banchiu, her grandchildren, Adam Banchiu, and Patricia, Barbara, Jeffery, Cynthia, Katherine, and many great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend of 85 years, Betty Michel. Mrs. Travnikar is preceded in death by her son, Thomas, brothers, Edward and William Brown, and sister, Audrey.

Mrs. Travnikar was a 1939 Graduate of Royal Oak High School and worked at The Holly Carburetor Company of Detroit during the war. She and her husband built their home in Madison Heights where they raised their 6 children.

A loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Mrs. Travnikar will be remembered best for her sense of humor, her passion for flowers, commitment to life and especially her love of family and friends. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday 3-8pm. Funeral Services at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, Monday 11 am. Friends may visit beginning at 10:30am.
