Sue Ann Phillips of Plymouth died October 6, 2020. She was 92 years old. Sue was born Assuntina Rosa Rainone, August 15, 1928 in Windsor, Canada to Carmela (Nee Monfredonio) and Severino Rainone.

Sue married Allyn R. Phillips in 1947 and together they raised two children and enjoyed 41 years of marriage until his death in 1988.

A longtime member of St. Roberts Bellarmine in Redford and St. Christopher’s in Jupiter Florida, Sue was a volunteer worker at Martin Hospital in Stuart Florida and enjoyed bowling on a league until the age of 89. She loved many things including, family gatherings, attending track meets, being a Girl Scout Leader, sewing clothes and costumes, and making homemade Gnocchi and Pizzelles.

Sue also loved spending winters in Florida, Bingo night, Happy Hour, music in the park, playing cards, and pizza with her best friend of 60+ years, Helen. Sue was the life of every party and will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Sue is survived by her son, Allyn (Carolyn) Phillips, daughter, Debra (Keller) McGaffey and grandchildren, Cari Ann Phillips, Alison (Scott) Nashlon, Connor Phillips McGaffey, Shealyn (Matthew) Shalhoub, Kaitryn (Justin) Reynolds, and Brea (Kyle) Dorosz. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Nathan Justin Philips, Logan Allyn Nashlon, Hope Elizabeth Nashlon, Charles Matthew Shalhoub, and Roman Andrew Dorosz and many nieces, nephews, and friends in Florida and Cedarbrook of Northville. Sue is preceded in death by her husbands, Allyn Phillips and Dilbert “Smitty” Smith and 5 siblings.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ Our Light Catholic Church, 2345 Coolidge, Troy, Friday, October 9th at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9am. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
