Shoua was born on August 2, 1943 in Kiaj Npuas, Noon Hem, Laos. She passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2020.

Daughter of Tou Khang and Mos Vang. Beloved wife of the late Xai Sao Yang. Dear mother of 12 children, Tub Kaus Yang (deceased), Zam Lwj Yang (Maiv Txo Khang), Pahnia Yang, Mai See Yang (Nyiaj Khai Kue), Hao Xeng Yang, Nkauj Ntxoov Yang (deceased), Mai Der Yang (Pong Lee), Chang Yang, Yer Yang, Tou Moua Yang, Charlie Yang (Sheng Vang), Michael Yang. Loving grandmother of 11 grandchildren, Casey Yang (Sanee Vang), Clara Kue, Stephen Yang, Faithhannah Lee, Isabelle Lee, Anastasia Lee, Ivan Lee, Madisyn Lee, Abigail Lee, Lydia Yang, Luna Yang. Devoted sister to a brother and sister in Laos, as well as survived by many beloved family and friends.

Shoua married her beloved late husband, Xai Sao Yang, in March 1969. The family came to the United States of America in September of 1982, where they resided in Providence, Rhode Island until 1985, where the family moved to Detroit, Michigan, had five more sons and called it home.

Shoua is a loving, caring, compassionate woman; simple and humble. She loves to be around her family, gardening and sewing (paj ntaub). In June 2011, God’s unconditional love has lead her to Christ, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16. Her love for growing and nurturing, rather it is gardening or guidance, is a blessing for all who she loved and loved her, “And now these three remain: faith, hope and love but the greatest of these is love” 1 Corinthians 13:13. Her love for Christ has made her journey on earth temporary but had found her way home to our heavenly father, “Now we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, and eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands”, 2 Corinthians 5:1.

She has touched the lives of so many with her unconditional love, generosity and kindness. She will be forever missed!
