Obituary for Roy C. Esler

Esler, Roy C. of Royal Oak, died May 1, 2012 at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak following a short illness. He was 84 years old. Roy was born August 7, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan to parents William and Bertha Polenz. He proudly serviced in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Roy loved his country.

Roy married Elvera Brammer on September 27, 1952 in Detroit. He was a manager in computer system at Fisher Body Plant before retiring in 1986. Roy was an avid bowler who enjoyed music, building model cars, and had an eye for fine clothing. His family describes him as an exemplary husband. �Uncle Roy� was a male mentor and father figure to his nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Elvera �Birdie� Esler; brother, Wilbert (Dolores) Esler; Sisters in-law, Katherine Sellers, Beulah Felton, and Priscilla Fletcher. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and fellow Veterans. Roy is preceded in death by his sister in-law, Geraldine Wood.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday 3-8pm. Funeral at Bethesda Christian Church, 14000 Metro Parkway, Sterling Heights, Friday 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am.
