Obituary for Richard "Rick" Czerwinski

Richard “Rick” Czerwinski , age 60, passed away May 10, 2021 following a long battle with cancer. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to Virginia and Stanley Czerwinski, Jr. on October 15, 1960. He spent most of his life in Southfield, Royal Oak and Birmingham. Later moving to Hinsdale, IL in 2006 to work for First Industrial. Rick moved to Dallas, TX in January 2014 to begin his job as Chief Operating Officer for Sealy & Company.

Education was important to him. He graduated with his bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and earned his MBA at Wayne State University.

Rick enjoyed concerts, boating, running the Katy Trail in Dallas, attending hockey and baseball games. He also loved to travel the country to see family, friends and enjoy new adventures.

Rick was a very social, kind, loyal, trusting and generous man. Nothing gave him greater joy then spending time with his children Kate, Jack and his wonderful friends.

Rick is survived by his two children Kate and Jack, sisters Judy Rupay (Brad) and Linda DeVillez (Dennis) and many nieces, cousins and numerous great friends that he always thought of as family.

Ever thoughtful and perceptive he was an extraordinary man.

Thank you to the hospice team at T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center.

Visitation will be Friday, May 14, 2021 at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan from 4:00pm-8:00pm.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 10:00am at National Shrine of Little Flower Basilica, 2100 Twelve Mile Road, Royal Oak, Michigan. Pallbearers and lifelong friends are Brett Peterson, Jim Kargula, Steve Comben, Bill McCabe, Scott Russman, Dale Garber, Thomas Draplin, and Clarence Gleeson.
