Obituary for Richard N. Wallace

Richard N. Wallace of Royal Oak, Michigan died September 25, 2021. He was 88 years old. Richard was born on April 17, 1933 in Hamtramck, Michigan to parents, Amelia and Peter Wallace.

Richard worked for many years as a police officer, eventually retiring from the Royal Oak Police Department. Richard loved to travel and was very interested in genealogy, his family, however, was his main priority. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Richard will be fondly remembered as a generous man and skilled negotiator. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Richard is survived by his loving children, Janet (the late Daniel) MacDonald, Linda (Rick) Colombo, Kathy (Don) Berquist, and Patty (Bill) Stefanski, his cherished grandchildren, Monica (Benjamin Zawacki) Myska, Lynsey (Timothy) O’Neil, Devon (Sandra Beqiraj), Carly (Ryan Jaworski), and Eric Colombo, Donald, Jr., and Bryan Berquist, Zachary (Kayla), Peter, and Molly Stefanski, and his dear great-grandchildren, Jonathon and Joseph Myska, and Charlotte, Rosaleen, Timothy, Juliet, and Donovan O’Neill, and Jace Jaworski. He is also survived by his brother, Frank (Elizabeth) Wallace and his dear friend, Judy Jacques. Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Audrey and his brother Gerald Wallace.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan 48017 on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ, Our Light! Catholic Church 3077 Glouchester Dr, Troy, MI 48084 on Wednesday, September, 29, 2021 at 10:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Burial will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
