Obituary for Richard J. Trousdale

Richard James Trousdale, of Royal Oak, died peacefully surrounded by his family Sunday evening December 17, 2017 in Manchester, Tennessee. He was 38 years old. Rich was born November 29, 1979 in Royal Oak to parents Darlene (nee Merser) and Stephen Trousdale, Sr.

Rich was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 16 and despite his setbacks and challenges, he lived life to the fullest. He graduated from Dondero High School in 1998 where he played football for the Chargers and enjoyed baseball. He attended Oakland Community College in Royal Oak and took a mission trip to Nicaragua.

Rich was a Make-A-Wish recipient as well as a volunteer for the organization. He had a soft heart for children and had a gift for making people laugh. A devoted University of Michigan fan, Rich was a member of Memorial Free-Will Baptist Church in Royal Oak. He enjoyed Chinese food and Subway but his greatest joy came from spending time with his nieces and nephew. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rich is survived by his loving mother, Darlene Trousdale, siblings, AnnMarie Pardee, Stephen Trousdale, Jr., Rob Trousdale, and step-sister, Meghan Tighe. He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Kendra Pardee, Shaundra Pardee, Tim Lenaway, and Mikayla Trousdale. Rich is preceded in death by his father, Stephen (Shelly) Trousdale, brother, Jamie Trousdale, and great-niece, Lynn Kozen.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (Between 14–15 Mile Rds.) Thursday, December 21st at 7pm. Friends may visit beginning at 2pm.

Memorials appreciated to Make-A-Wish Foundation, 7600 Grand River Avenue, Ste 175 Brighton, Michigan 48114.
