Obituary for Raymond J. Bartus

Raymond J. Bartus, a long-time resident of Clawson, died peacefully August 13, 2011 at the Orion Manor Assisted Living in Lake Orion. He was 94 years old. Mr. Bartus was born August 10, 1917, in Detroit to parents Angeline (nee Zywick) and Jacob Bartus. He married Rita Kendzierski on August 19, 1944, in Dearborn, Michigan. Mr. Bartus was a Foreman for over 30 years at Detroit Reamer & Tool, Troy and later retired from Wilson Garner at the age of 80. His children described how hard he worked to provide and support his growing family. Mr. Bartus was a member of Guardian Angels Church, Clawson and the K. of C. � Fr. Lynch Council. He was an avid fisherman and Detroit Tiger fan who enjoyed dancing, golfing, bowling, card games, puzzles, and stamp collecting. Mr. Bartus will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Bartus is survived by his loving children, Patricia Bartus, Donald (Beverly) Bartus, Judith (Ron) Price, Barbara Bartus and Michael Bartus; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Joseph (Geraldine) Bartus, Thomas (Carole) Bartus and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Bartus is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Rita Bartus and siblings, Edmund Bartus, Virginia Baczynski, Felix Bartus, Chester Bartus and Anthony Bartus.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Wednesday 3-9pm. Prayers Wednesday 7pm. Funeral at Guardian Angels Church, 581 E. 14 Mile Rd., Clawson, Thursday 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10:30am. Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
