Obituary for Peter P. Gayner

Peter P. Gayner, of Rochester Hills, died Sunday morning December 10, 2017. He was 91 years old. Peter was born August 4, 1926 in Wayne, Michigan to parents Peter and Victoria Gayner.

Peter proudly served in the United States Army. He married Rosella Leckner on July 25, 1948 and had a 30 years career as an engineer for Chrysler Automotive. Peter was a devoted member of Our Lady Queen of Martrys Church in Fraser. He was an avid gardener and wood worker who enjoyed flying remote control airplanes and snow skiing.

Peter is survived by his loving children, Gerri Gayner, David (Maria) Gayner, Bev (Rocky) Lowes, Joe (Terri) Gayner; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, David (Sandy) Gayner, Bob Gayner, Celie (Dick) Bryant, Shirley (the late Dick) Flood, Louise (the late Jack) L’Amoreaux. Peter is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosella and siblings, Jerry (Mary) Gayner and Michael Gayner.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) on Wednesday from 4 – 8pm. A prayer service is scheduled Wednesday at 6:30pm. A traditional "Requiem Low Mass" will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 16414 E. 14 Mile Road, Fraser, Thursday at 9:30am. Burial with military honors in Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton Twp.
