Obituary for Paul John Mullin

It is with heavy hearts and immense sadness that we say 'goodbye' to our dear brother, Paul Mullin, who died unexpectedly on January 18, 2019, one day shy of his 59th birthday.

Paul will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Patti (Ron) Auten; Carol (Peter) Kalinski; and Marie (Kevin) Boussie; along with numerous cousins, friends and colleagues.

Paul was predeceased by his father Thomas P. Mullin, and mother, Dolores C. Mullin.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 27, 2019, 10am, at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 34530 W. Michigan Avenue, Wayne, MI 48184, with Father Jack Baker officiating. Visitation begins at 9am. Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield, Mich., at a future date.

Paul was a quiet, humble and observant man who said few words but had a big heart and loved his family. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Red Wings, and his favorite player was No. 7, Ted Lindsay. No. 9, Gordie Howe, was also one of his hockey heroes.

Paul’s signature snakeskin cowboy boots meant he was ready for action! He liked to listen to music – especially live rock and roll – with its wailing guitar licks and ever-present drum rhythms. Paul traveled to France and Italy and enjoyed downhill skiing in the Rocky Mountains. However, one of his favorite places was the Upper Peninsula of Michigan – God’s country – with its fresh air, blue skies and peaceful landscapes. Many memories were created and treasured in the Keweenaw Peninsula with his family.

Memorial donations may be made to The Capuchins (http://www.thecapuchins.org/) or the Ted Lindsay Foundation (https://www.tedlindsay.org/).

May you rest in peace, dear brother. Stolat!
