Obituary for Paul E. Kline

Paul Edward Kline, longtime resident of Clawson, MI, passed away Thursday morning, October 31, 2019. He was 80 years old. Paul was born July 1, 1939 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Glenn and Margaret (Angerer) Kline and grew up on La Plaza Drive in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Paul was the beloved husband of Judy (Bohlen) Kline; dear father of Kevin Kline, Elizabeth Fornal, Christopher Kline (Nicole) and Amanda Douglas (Jason); brother of John Kline (Margo), Carl Kline (the late Bonnie), Rt. Rev. Thomas L. Kline (Nina); and grandfather of Noah, Anna, Joshua, and Claire.

Paul enjoyed playing music (theatre organ as well as the Hammond) and was a long-time member of the Detroit Theatre Organ Society. He enjoyed sports, played Class A ice-hockey earlier in life, and later, became an avid Table Tennis and then Pickleball player. He made so many friends along the way while involved in his favorite activities, including dance roller skating, which is how he met his wife Judy.

Paul was a great talker who will be dearly missed by his family and so many friends. Visitation and service details are listed below, but the family welcomes anyone who would like to share one of their favorite stories about Paul to attend Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM for a sharing of memories.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. just south of 15 Mile Road (Maple) on Tuesday, November 5 from 3:00-8:00 PM with a personal eulogy and sharing of memories at 7:00 PM. Funeral service performed by Fr. Don Demmer will also take place at Lynch & Sons on Wednesday, November 6 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations to the Detroit Theatre Organ Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
