Obituary for Patricia Rose Wilk

Patricia Rose Wilk of Farmington Hills died December 9, 2018 just one day short of her 64th birthday. Patty was born December 10, 1954 in Detroit to Sonia M. (nee Kruka) and Walter V. Wilk.

She attended classes at Oakland University and School Craft College for Nursing and was an LPN for 20 years, working at Detroit Memorial, St. Johns, South Macomb and Pasadena Bayshore Hospital in Texas. Her favorite nursing role was working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), providing specialized care to newborn babies. Patty absolutely loved children.

Patty had many hobbies and talents including a love for all art especially watercolor and colored pencil. She loved flowers especially roses, all music (she grew up singing with her sisters, playing the organ, piano, guitar and the accordion). She loved visiting museums and attending musical performances around the Detroit area with her son. Patty loved going up north to spend time near the water and see the fall colors.

She commented that a few of her most favorite experiences were seeing the tulip festival in Holland Michigan, art in Saugatuck and a recent performance of Motown The Musical. She loved being active, traveling, and experiencing life.

Patty was a quiet person with a warm heart and dry sense of humor.

She had recently relocated to Farmington Hills to be closer to her son and greatly enjoyed the comforts of a community of friends and activities where she lived at the Farmington Hills Inn. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Patty is survived by her son Kevin Calabrese, sister, Janet and her former spouse, Joseph Calabrese. She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Sonia and sisters, Kathy and Margie.

A Memorial Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday at 2pm. Friends may visit beginning at 12 Noon.
