Obituary for Patricia Genevieve Page

Patricia Genevieve Page passed away peacefully at the age of 96 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan on April 8, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born September 16, 1924 to Genevieve Daley Drew and Verne Lazier Drew in Manhattan, New York.

Patricia graduated from the University of Detroit with a degree in English. She met her husband, Roger Eugene Page while working for United Airlines at the Washington Boulevard Book Cadillac International office. Patricia and Roger married in 1952. Together they raised two daughters, Drew Ann and Julie Clare. They moved to their home in Bloomfield Hills in 1960 where she enjoyed living for the next 56 years. In 2016, she moved to All Seasons Retirement Home in Birmingham, Michigan.

Patricia had four passions in life; family, dear friends, bridge, and reading. She was intellectually curious and enjoyed conversations on a broad range of topics. She was a master at the game of bridge and was a much sought-after partner. She loved the mental challenge but perhaps loved even more the enduring lifetime friendships made around a card table. Patricia had a direct line to the Birmingham Library and was still reading two books a week at the age of 96. She was smart, fun, very current, interested and interesting. She was a people magnet radiating positive energy and happiness to those around her. Patricia will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Naples, Florida was a favorite winter retreat for Patricia, especially when enjoyed with family and friends. She also loved summer days on the porch at Walloon Lake reading, chatting, napping, and watching over very active grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger E. Page in 2001. She is survived by her two daughters, Drew (Michael) Ebbing and Julie (Robert) Matthews and 6 adoring grandchildren, Matthew Louisell, Page Louisell Woodward (Chas), Robbie Matthews, Charlie Matthews (Maura), Gen Matthews, and John Matthews.

There will be a private family service at St. Hugo of the Hills in Bloomfield Hills where Patricia was a parishioner for 60 years.

The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Residential Hospice, 5440 Corporate Drive, Troy, Michigan 48098. https://www.residentialhospicefoundation.org/donate/
