Obituary for Michael D. Riley

Michael Draves Riley died peacefully and surrounded by his family December 30, 2011, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac. He was 64 years old. Mike was born January 24, 1947 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Margaret (nee Draves) and James M. Riley.

Mike will be remembered most for his kind heart and selfless, loving ways. Never did he complain about the pain he endured or the sacrifices he made for the betterment of those around him. He was devoted to God, family and was loyal to friends.

He was a salesman by trade, working for numerous steel companies in the mid-west. A year ago, he retired from American Gear. Though he enjoyed work, Mike always made time for his hobbies which included sports, history and travel. He relished going to professional sporting events, civil war battlegrounds and religious sites.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Joan, his children, Andrea Riley, Debbie (Scott) Freudenberger, and Kevin Riley, and his grandson, Connor Michael Freudenberger. He is also survived by his sister, Christine Arcand.
