Obituary for Mary Maguran

Mary “Mom” Maguran 101 years old, died on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Mom was born on September 11, 1918 in Buffalo, New York to Joseph Piasecki and Helen Janiszewski both from Poland. She married my dad on September 1, 1956 at St. Andrews Church in Detroit, Michigan, culminating a total of 59 years of marriage. They purchased their home on Hazel Street in Birmingham, Michigan on December 24, 1956 and spent a lifetime keeping the home in flawless condition while regularly attending Holy Name Church. Mom worked as an IBM machine operator at Parke Davis where she met my father and later retired to become a full-time homemaker.

My Tribute to Mom
If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother’s arms
And tell her they are from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
And when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
And hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
But there is now an ache within my heart
That will never go away.

A graveside service will be celebrated by Msgr. Zenz at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 25800 W. 10 Mile Road, Southfield, MI on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. The graveside service was recorded and can be watched via the link below:
