Obituary for Mary Ellen Agnoletto

Mary Ellen Agnoletto died April 7, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. She was 93 years old and was a resident of Northpoint Village of Utica at the time of her passing.

Mary Ellen was born Mary Ellen Larsen on October 26, 1926 in Detroit to Estelle (Violette) Larsen and Elmer Larsen. She was the youngest of the three children. Her siblings are the late Captain Aoe John (Bill) W. Larsen and Margaret (Peggy) Larsen. Mary Ellen and her late husband, John Agnoletto, were married May 9, 1946 and raised five daughters and their niece. She is survived by her five children, Susan Fox, Denise Sinnhuber, Jill Agnoletto McKnight (Scott), Sally Agnoletto and Kelly MacKenzie (Brian), her niece, Carolyn LaBruzzy, and five grandchildren, Krysten Page, Amy Page, Lily Shapcott, Trevor MacKenzie, Shane MacKenzie, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary Ellen was a full-time homemaker. She mastered any task she was presented; cooking, baking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, wallpapering, painting, gardening, floral arranging, paper tole, cake decorating, macramé and even made herself a hat of pheasant feathers, she also had an eye for decorating and fashion and was a designer for store front windows.

Mary Ellen went back to work part time once her youngest daughter was in middle school and worked retail until her retirement at the age of 70. Mary Ellen and her late husband, John Agnoletto, enjoyed spending time with their family, boating, traveling and trying new restaurants.

Thus, in keeping with the restrictions in place at this time for the health and safety of our community, a private burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery on Saturday April 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. with immediate family only. The family is planning a memorial mass at a later date when conditions allow for larger gatherings.
