Obituary for Mary A. Critzon

Mary A. Critzon, formerly of Madison Heights, died peacefully in her sleep at Sun Valley Memory Care in Troy, December 23, 2011. She was 93 years old. Mary was born July 20, 1918, in Detroit, to Dorothy (nee Ischimiuck) and Mark Darja. She married John Critzon on May 25, 1940, and they were married for 68 years.

Mary worked in an administrative capacity at the State Capital in Lansing and was very proud of her work there. She and her husband John owned a Western Auto Store in Milford for 30 years.

Mary loved to cut coupons and was very thrifty and conservative. She loved saving & investing money and didnt like to throw anything away.

Mary enjoyed dancing and when she was young she danced with a Romanian Dance Team. She loved cooking, reading, sewing, and playing pinochle but her true passion was her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with them. She took great pride in cooking, cleaning, and laundry and enjoyed sharing stories from the old days with her family and friends. She enjoyed family picnics and loved her mother dearly, bringing her to live with them when she aged. Mary was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many.

Mary is survived by her children, John (Katherine) Critzon and Betty (Leo) LaFlamme. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John.

A Funeral Service will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday 11am. Friends may visit Thursday 4-8pm. Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.

Memorials appreciated to Woodside Bible Church, 6600 Rochester Road, Troy, Michigan 48085.
