Obituary for Mark Harold Vogler

Mark Harold Vogler, of Gaylord, died suddenly of a heart attack early Wednesday morning July 4, 2018. He was 61 years old. Mark was born February 19, 1957 in Birmingham, Michigan to parents Harold and June Vogler.

Mark graduated from Birmingham Groves High School in 1975, where he was a star athlete in football and track and field. He spent his career in the turfgrass industry, purchasing and managing W.F. Miller Company following his father’s death. In 2008, Mark sold the company and finished his career working for Textron-Jacobson in northern Michigan. His passion and second career were being a reserve police officer for the West Bloomfield Police Department for 31 years.

Mark was an avid Michigan State football fan but most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with the ones he loved at his home on Grand Lake, camping, motorcycle riding, snowmobiling and fishing. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Amy (nee Hiller) Vogler; sons, Kirk (Katy) Vogler and Jack (Abigail) Vogler; granddaughter, Kennedy Rose; Stepson, Max Sawickyj and sister, Susan (Scott) McClain. He is also survived by his previous wife of 33 years, Sally Vogler.

A service celebrating Mark’s life will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) on Monday, July 9th at 1pm. Friends may visit with the family beginning at 10am. Interment will follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
