Obituary for Margaret Streetman

Margaret Ann Nash Streetman died November 18th, 2017. She was born September 30th, 1946 in Hazel Park, Michigan. Margaret graduated from Hazel Park High School in 1964 and from Wayne State University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 49 years, Charles, whom she married on June 22nd, 1968, son Charles (Liz Pressley), and daughter Susan (Steven) Mason-Hollis. Margaret is survived by her four beloved grandchildren, Charlie, Emily, Sarah, and Natalie. She is also survived by siblings Janie (Tony) Gniatkiewicz and Tom (Shari) Nash, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Weldon Robert and Margaret Lorene (Claxton) Nash, and son in law Scott Mason.

Margaret loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren. She served as secretary for her Daughters of the American Revolution chapter. Margaret was an avid reader and spent many hours working in and cultivating her beautiful yard and garden.

Margaret taught elementary school in Warren Consolidated Schools and at Pick Elementary in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri before choosing to stay at home and care for her children. Later she taught at Mt. Clemens Montessori School in Mt. Clemens.

Margaret’s ashes will be interred at Van Hoosen Jones Cemetery in Rochester in Spring 2018 and a memorial celebration will be held at that time.
