Obituary for Linda Lee Wittstock

Linda Lee Wittstock died peacefully at her home in Bloomfield Twp., surrounded by her family, October 16, 2012, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. Linda was born August 22, 1952, in Detroit, to Annabelle (nee Sayke) and Raymond Wittstock.

Linda graduated from Shrine High School in Royal Oak, attended nursing school to become a licensed practical nurse, and then later graduated from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor with a degree in History and Education. She wore many hats in her lifetime, including nurse at University Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan, high school math teacher in Lamar, Colorado, high school history teacher in Silver Spring, Maryland, and in recent years, realtor with Coldwell Banker in Birmingham, Michigan.

She will be remembered by her family and many friends for the indomitable spirit, optimism, strength, and courage she always maintained as she faced her progressive illness.

Linda is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Brian P. Massaro, MD, daughters, Sarah (David DeVine) Massaro, and Julia Massaro, brother, Gordon (Heather) Wittstock, and many other loving relatives. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Annabelle Wittstock.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday 2-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church, 4580 Adams Road, Troy, Saturday 10am. Interment in Roseland Park Cemetery, Berkley.
