Obituary for Leo Golin

Leo Golin, of Troy, died at his home Tuesday afternoon, October 9, 2012. He was 90 years old. He was born June 29, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Clara (nee LaRese-Cighieri) and Frank Golin.

Leo proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corp as a pilot and attended General Motors Institute and became a Tool & Die Maker. He had a long career with the automotive companies and retired in 1984 as a Chrysler Executive and die casting expert. Leo was an avid golfer who loved to travel and handcraft beautiful wood furniture for his family and friends. He will be deeply missed.

Leo is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Mary Ann Golin; his children, Dr. Art (Mary Ann) Golin, Greg (Donna) Golin, Susan (Frank) Franciosi, and Jeff Golin. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and sister, Amy (George) Kunzat.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd., (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday 3-8pm. The funeral mass will be held at St. Hugo of the Hills-Stone Chapel, 2215 Opdyke Rd., Bloomfield Hills, Saturday 10am. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30am. Interment with military honors will follow at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
