Obituary for Ken Eads

Ken Eads of Shelby Township, formerly of Clawson, died Tuesday, November 3, 2020, surrounded by his loving family. He was 77 years old. An only child, Ken was born October 17th, 1943, in Chillicothe, Missouri.

He married Deryn Price Eads in June of 1964 in Denver, Colorado. They were married for 56 unforgettable, loving years. Ken spent his early years coaching Maverick Football and Little League baseball. He enjoyed being a mentor to anyone he ever coached. He often shared that those were some of the best times of his life. It made his day seeing his former players, and hearing the stories they remembered from their times with him.

Ken’s number one love was his family. He was the best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather that his family could have ever asked for. He consistently put everyone’s needs ahead of his own, and asked for nothing in return. His selflessness was truly unmatched. Ken had many legendary stories. The ones that he loved to tell the most were the cross over the web, his days on the farm, and all of the miracles he witnessed. He will forever be missed by his wonderful family and friends.

Left to carry on Ken’s memory is his dedicated wife Deryn; his three children, Ken Jr. (Lynn), Kimberly (Paul) Thompson, and Kip (Christine); his eight grandchildren, Amanda, Kayla, Kenny (Paula), Aaron, Andrew, Alivia, Rachael, and Carson, and two great-grandchildren, Mia, and Evelyn that he absolutely adored. Ken is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, and his father, Ray.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday, November 6th, 3-8pm. Due to COVID-19, a private service will be held at the cemetery.

Memorials in Ken’s honor may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Leader Dogs for the Blind, or Hospice.
