Obituary for June M. Raezler

June M. Raezler of Birmingham died peacefully December 15, 2011, at Providence Hospital in Southfield. She was 88 years old. June was born June 21, 1923, in Detroit to Mary (nee Behling) and Earl Chapman.

A devout Christian her entire life, June grew up in Detroit and attended Chadsey High School. On June 22, 1946, she married the love of her life, Raymond Raezler, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Detroit. Together, Raymond and June raised three sons.

June was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother, and when her grandchildren were born, they became the most important part of her life. Always comforting and loving, she was famous for her cooking and baking and frequently prepared meals for shut-ins and the elderly.

In her free time, June enjoyed gardening and staying in touch with family and friends. She was an extraordinary communicator who always maintained friendships, both old and new. She appreciated history and served as a docent at the Henry Ford Fair Lane Mansion for many years. In her later years, as the duties of motherhood lessened, June was able to spend more time working with her church family at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer. This relationship meant the world to her and was always a source of inspiration and joy.

A devoted wife and mother, loving grandmother, cherished sister, and friend to all, June Raezler will be remembered best as a proud Christian, ever dedicated to the betterment of those around her. She was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Patty) Raezler, Gordon (Edith) Raezler, and Donald (Lee) Raezler. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Adam (Colleen) Raezler, Katie Raezler, Mike Raezler, Jr., Stephanie Raezler, Kristin (Steve) Darga, Matthew Raezler, Sarah Raezler, and Aaron Raezler; great-granddaughter, Addison Darga, and brother, Nelson (Elaine) Chapman. June is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond Raezler.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday 3-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, 1800 W. Maple Road, Birmingham, Monday 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Interment in Glen Eden Cemetery, Livonia.

Memorials appreciated to Lutheran Church of the Redeemer.
