Obituary for Joseph A. Himmel III

Joseph A. Himmel III died peacefully at home on December 2, 2021. He was 76 years old. Mr. Himmel was born March 8, 1945, in Detroit, to Marjorie (nee Roberts) and Joseph A. Himmel II.

Mr. Himmel served proudly with the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Professionally, he established his own business at Himmel Dental Laboratory in Clinton Township where he worked as a Dental Technician making partials and dentures for dentists on the east side. In his free time, he enjoyed travel, hunting, fishing, and downhill skiing. He was both an environmentalist and a man’s man. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by many.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Carmen R. Collins, his sons, Joseph A. Himmel IV (Elaine) and Steven W. Himmel (Allison), and his grandchildren, Jillian, Addie “Blue” and Molly “Sparks” Himmel.

A Memorial Service will be on December 12, 2021 at 12pm at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd., Clawson, Michigan 48017. Family and friends may begin visiting at the funeral home at 10am until the time of service.
