Obituary for John T. Osborne

John T. Osborne died July 13, 2017 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. He was 28 years old. John was born on January 28, 1989 in Southfield to parents, Marie (nee Mazzocco) and John Osborne.

Born prematurely, John was still twice the size of all the other preemies in the Providence Hospital NICU. That would be the last time he did anything small. John’s larger-than-life personality was about as big as his size 17 shoes and his signature ‘fro. He loved good BBQ, bad jokes, whiskey, and great music. However, the largest thing about our “gentle giant” was his heart. He always found time for homeless people, stray cats and anyone who might need a really good bear hug. We have comforted ourselves in the thought that his heart was just too full to keep ticking another moment.

John is remembered by his music-buddy dad, John and his cooking-partner mom, Marie. He’ll be missed by his partner-in-puns, his sister Domenique, his Simpsons-appreciating brother-in-law David, his similarly auto-obsessed brother Robert and his mini, but mighty, girlfriend Blair.

He is beloved by his Mamaw, numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, coworkers, friends, and family spread across the United States and Europe. He was welcomed into his heavenly home by his Nonno, Nonna, Papaw and dear friend Conan along with his Aunts Sharon and Lenora who were always on the lookout for a chance to spoil their Johnny.

Visitation will be at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday 2-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham, Monday 11am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10:30am.

Memorials appreciated to the Lighthouse of Oakland County Thanksgiving Food Program, 46156 Woodward Avenue, Pontiac, Michigan 48342 or The Culinary Arts Program at Schoolcraft College, C/O Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Michigan 48017.
