Obituary for Joan Veronica Leet

Joan Veronica Leet passed away peacefully at her home in Bloomfield Hills on December 10, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born January 18, 1937, to Joseph J Kuritar and Anne B. Kuritar.

A wonderfully kind homemaker, Joan shared her mother’s quintessential Scottish sense of humor and her father’s Hungarian culinary skills. After graduating from Detroit Mackenzie High School, she went to work at Michigan Bell Telephone Company where she met the love of her life Roy Leet. She spent the next 64 years taking care of her family.

Joan was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who was fiercely loyal to her family, always encouraging, and always forgiving. She was an active volunteer at Wm. Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak for many years, and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Wolverine chapter. She will be greatly missed.

Joan is survived by her husband, Roy, daughter Robin Deighan (Mike), son Edwin; grandchildren, Mia Deighan (Cameron Brady) and Connor Deighan. Joan is preceded in death by her brothers George Kuritar (Charlotte) and Robert Kuritar (Renee).

Friends and family may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Roads) Monday, December 27th, 11am to 1pm followed by a funeral service at 1pm. Burial immediately following the service at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak.

Memorials may be made to the Capuchin Soup Kitchen or the charity of the donor’s choice.
