Obituary for Janusz S. H. Sulich

Janusz S. H. Sulich, formerly of Southfield and a resident of West Bloomfield for 15 years, died April 26, 2016 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac. He was 86 years old. Mr. Sulich was born September 30, 1929, in Warsaw, Poland to Waclawa and Stanislaw Sulich.

Mr. Sulich graduated from Glasgow University and Wayne State University with a Masters Degree in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering. He was the assistant director at Allied Signal and worked as well at Chrysler, Bendix, and Allied and Siemans. Mr. Sulich had 4 patents, Fuel System, Fluidic Fuel Injection with Bistable Valve, Fluidic Fuel Metering System and Fluidic Fuel Metering System. He designed programs for NASA as well.

An accomplished photographer with his own dark room, Mr. Sulich also enjoyed building and designing model trains, telescopes and was currently building a car and a real steamer car. He was an avid reader and historian and was a life member of Yankee Air Museum.

Mr. Sulich is survived by his beloved wife, Krystina Sulich, son, Andrew (Shawn) Sulich and daughter, Barbara (William) Pichan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Caroline & Evan Sulich and Neil & Emily Pichan.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon Street, Birmingham, Friday at 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9am. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery in Ann Arbor.
