Obituary for James M. Oakley

James M. Oakley of Troy, died April 4, 2011, at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. He was 64 years old. Jim was born December 4, 1946, in Detroit, to Margaret (nee Stewart) and Addison Oakley. He was president of Stewart Glenn Furniture in Bloomfield Hills for 28 years.

Jim�s passion was performing as a comedian-juggler. He opened for many national acts including the Gatlin Brothers, Oakridge Boys, Everly Brothers, Weird Al Yankovich, Bobby Vinton, and Pam Lillis. Jim also performed locally and nationally as a corporate entertainer. He loved to make people laugh and will be deeply missed by many.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Gerry L. Hendrix and dear sister, Jan Oakley. He is preceded in death by his parents, Addison and Margaret Oakley.

Visitation will be held at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday 3-8pm. Funeral Service Friday 11am at Lynch & Sons with burial to follow in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
