Obituary for Jackson S. Turner

Jackson Steele Turner of Royal Oak, passed away on April 23, 2020 after being hospitalized since early January due to a Type 1 Diabetes complication.

Jackson was born on April 12th, 1994. He was a graduate of Royal Oak High School and was a member of the First Congregational Church. Jackson received an associate degree from Oakland Community College and was nearing completion of his Bachelor degree from Oakland University.

Although Jackson only lived a short life of 26 years, he lived a full one. He had many friends, both young and old, and he touched the hearts of many people. He always made time for friends and family, sharing with them his quick wit and great smirk. Jackson loved concerts, playing games, kayaking, family vacations and travel. He recently returned from a trip to Japan.

One of Jackson’s greatest gifts was working with children. He spent the last six years working at Total Education Solutions where he worked with children who have Autism doing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Jackson enjoyed it so much that he decided to further his career by pursuing his degree in ABA.

Jackson will be dearly missed by all but especially by his sister Abigail and brother DJ, parents Jay and Kathryn, girlfriend Lindsey Wagner, grandmother Vicki Turner, aunts and uncles Brent & Kristin Turner, Kristy & Jaime Johnson and Patti VanDusen.

Jackson is now with his maternal grandparents Thelma and Earl Lonsberry, his paternal grandpa Jerry Turner, cousin Seth Turner and is meeting his dogs Sandy and Sheldon on the Rainbow Bridge.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
