Obituary for J. Francis Coughlin

J. Francis Coughlin of Rochester Hills, died October 15, 2011. He was 90 years old. Frank was born February 13, 1921, in Merrill, Michigan to Anne (nee McCormick) and Clyde Coughlin. He proudly served in the United States Marines during World War II and fought in the Battle of Guadalcanal.

Frank married Jewel Fuller on November 29, 1945, and they shared 64 years together before Jewels� death in 2009. Frank was a purchasing agent for Erb Lumber. He loved fishing, hunting, and golf but especially enjoyed time spent with his family in Northern Michigan.

Frank is survived by his children, Margaret (David Nowinski) Coughlin, William (Terry) Coughlin, Dale (Jennie) Coughlin, Geraldine Coughlin, Jean (Thomas) Hopper, Jewel (Robert) Howers, James (Andrea) Coughlin, Mary Coughlin, and Thomas (Debi) Coughlin. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Peggy Moorhead and Dolly Fuller, and several nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jewel Coughlin, son, John Francis Coughlin, Jr., grandson, John Allen Coughlin, parents, Anne and Clyde Coughlin, and siblings, Thomas, Catherine, and Ilene Coughlin.

Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday 2-9pm with prayers at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of the Hills Church, 3400 S. Adams Road, Auburn Hills, Friday 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Hemlock, Michigan.
