Hayden P. Dannug of Detroit and Jacksonville, Florida, died on July 19, 2019 at the age of 74. He was born as the third child to Pedro and Luz in San Augustin, Isabella, Philippines. He studied Chemical Engineering and graduated from National University with a B.S. degree in 1966. He immigrated to the United States in 1972 to be close to his brother Pedro Jr. and family. Shortly after arriving, he secured a job in Detroit as a chemist for the Detroit Police Department, where he served faithfully for 35 years.

Family was the most important value for Hayden, and he demonstrated this in so many ways. When there was a need, he was always willing to extend a helping hand. Whether in the States or in the Philippines, was always there for his brothers and sister. Even though he had no children, Hayden treated his nieces and nephews as if they were his own. He was aware of their life situations, and he generously gave to help them succeed.

As a devoted catholic, Hayden faithfully attended St. Scholastica church. He also loved to garden and grow fruit trees on his property in Florida. He grew avocado and mangoes each year.

Hayden is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Luz, and his brother Reynold. He is survived by his brothers Pedro Jr. (Norma), Macdain, Temy (Zulueta), and sister Merlyn (Raul) Buison.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Scholastica Catholic Church, 8201 Outer Dr W, Detroit, MI 48219 on Saturday August 3rd at 11:00 AM. The family will receive visitors beginning at 9:00 AM.
