Obituary for Gary P. Galazin

Gary P. Galazin of Beaverton, Michigan died May 31, 2018. He was 72 years old. Gary was born January 18, 1946 in Omer, Michigan to Mary (nee Holiver) and Peter Galazin.

Gary graduated from Standish-Sterling Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1967-1969. He went on to receive his B.A. from Saginaw Valley State University and his M.B.A. from Michigan State University. He worked as a senior evaluator for the U.S. General Accounting Office in Detroit from 1980-1995 and later as a salesman for Dean Arbour Ford Jeep of Pinconning.

Gary enjoyed playing cards with family and going to the casino. He was a fan of the Detroit Tigers and enjoyed listening to their games. He especially enjoyed spending time in nature whether hunting, fishing, walking in the woods, or just napping in one of his hand-made tree stands.

Gary is survived by his children, Stacy (D’Anne) Witkowski and David (Judy Halls) Galazin and by his grandson, Gavin Witkowski and granddaughter, Drew Galazin. He is also survived by his sister, Joan (the late Roger) Bessinger, his nephew, Brian Bessinger, and his nieces, Regina (Kent) Sebastian and Catina (Robert) Kristofik. He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Mary Galazin.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday, June 7th, 3-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection of the Lord Church, 423 W Cedar St, Standish, Michigan, on Friday, June 8th, at 5pm. Burial will be in Resurrection of the Lord Cemetery, Standish.
