Obituary for Frank Edward Griffo

Frank Edward Griffo, a longtime resident of Troy, passed away on June 4th at the age of 86. Frank was born in Detroit and raised in Ferndale by his parents Frank and Aileen Griffo. Beloved husband of 65 years to Mary Lorene Griffo. Devoted father to Frank D. (Susan) Griffo and Betsy (Tom) Chisholm. Loving grandfather of Jordan and Ryan Chisholm, Katelyn (Cody) Dingman, Jacob and Miranda Tebeau, and his great-grandson Max Dingman. Brother-in-law to Janet Hough as well as uncle to many nieces and nephews.

​Frank had a long and successful career in the brokerage industry, working for a number of firms, spanning 51 years. He had been an active member of Drayton Avenue Presbyterian Church in Ferndale for 65 years, serving as an elder, trustee, and usher. He was currently a member of First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham. He was a lifelong member of the Clawson Lions Club, and served as president. He was always willing to participate in his children’s activities, volunteering to coach Little League baseball and be the local Cub Scout pack leader. Frank loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, his Bridge group and Poker club, duck hunting, fishing, and especially telling stories to anyone who would listen.

​A family graveside service will be held at White Chapel next week.
A Memorial Service will be July 19th, 2021 at 11am, at First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham, 1669 W. Maple, Birmingham 48009. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Birmingham or Leader Dogs for the Blind.
