Obituary for Francis Bob Greene

Francis �Bob� R. Greene, died December 18, 2010 at Woodward Hills Nursing Center in Bloomfield Hills. He was 85. Mr. Greene was born October 2, 1925 in Detroit to parents, Frank and Anna Zilinski. He proudly served as an Aviation Radioman in the United States Navy during World War II. On July 10, 1965 he married Josephine �Jo�. Mr. Greene was a long-time Insurance Sales Agent. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers and had in the last couple of years become a fan of the Detroit Pistons. �Bob� especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

�Bob� entered Woodward Hills Nursing Center four years ago. During that time, he made many friends and became one of the favorites of many of the nurses and staff. He enjoyed sharing conversations with them when they had a little extra time to give him. A special heartfelt �Thank You� to all of Bob�s caretakers during his stay. They�ve been given a special gift to be able to give so many people such good care and it is appreciated more than words can say.

Mr. Greene is survived by his loving children, Robert (Elizabeth), Patricia (Robert) Ellis, Steve Greene and Barbara Leemon; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Bernice Mittelstaedt and Beatrice Williams. Mr. Greene is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jo.

Visitation at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Rd. (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Monday 3-8pm. Rosary Monday 7pm. Funeral at St. Anastasia Church, 4571 John Rd., Troy, Tuesday 12noon. Friends may visit at church beginning at 11:30am. Interment in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Detroit.
