Obituary for Francis A. Hess

Francis Aloysius Hess of Lathrup Village died peacefully, October 17, 2011, at Angela Hospice in Livonia. He was 86 years old. Frank was born July 21, 1925, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, to Gabrielle and Francis Hess.

Frank grew up in Detroit and graduated from Catholic Central High School. During the Second World War, he served proudly as a Bombardier in the United States Army Air Corp. On December 27, 1958, Frank married the love of his life, Sally Kotula, at Our Lady Hope of Christians Catholic Church in Detroit. Professionally, Frank spent his entire career as an engineer for Chrysler until his retirement in 1989. Upon retirement, he enjoyed golf and projects around the house; however, his greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Frank Hess was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Sally, and his daughters, Barbara (Tom) Kenez and Lisa (Ron) Bajorek. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Gary and Sara Kenez and Matthew, Jon, and Michael Bajorek, his siblings, Sr. Frances Gabrielle, IHM, Gabe (John) Smith, John (Sue) Hess, and Albert (Denise) Hess, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.), Wednesday 3-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, 32340 Pierce Street, Beverly Hills, Thursday 10am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 9:30am.

Memorials appreciated to Angela Hospice, 14100 Newburgh Road, Livonia, Michigan 48154 or Catholic Central High School, 27225 Wixom Road, Novi, Michigan 48374.
