Obituary for Elwyn "Ted" Wright

Elwyn F. “Ted” Wright, a resident of Troy, Michigan, died peacefully at home December 12, 2021 at the age of 94. He was born March 1, 1927, in Carsonville, Michigan.

After high school, Ted enlisted in the Navy and served overseas during World War Two. He left the Navy as a Seaman First Class with a Victory Medal and an Asiatic Pacific Ribbon. After the service, he enrolled at Wayne State and graduated in 1951 with a degree in Mortuary Science.

After two years as a mortician, Ted left and began his very successful career in sales. He eventually retired from Federal Asphalt Products, where he was the General Manager.

Ted was also an active member of Highland Park Baptist Church, where he served on the Mission Board, in the prison ministry, and as the Church Clerk.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 70 years, Jane Wright, his sister Hazel Warsinski (the late Bob), nieces and nephews James Warsinski (Lynne), Robert Warsinski, Paula Seward (Ron), Diane Kerr (the late Tom), Bill Korbelak (Kathy), Marcia Cline (the late Bob), Bill Cline (Mary), and numerous great-nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends and relatives at Lynch and Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, on Sunday, December 19th from 2-5pm. There will be visitation on Monday, December 20th at Highland Park Baptist Church, 28600 Lahser Road, Southfield beginning at 10am, followed by the funeral service at 11am.

Mr. Wright will be buried in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
