Obituary for Elwood M. Clay

Elwood M. Clay of Royal Oak died peacefully September 11, 2012, at William Beaumont Hospital in Troy. He was 82 years old. Elwood was born June 21, 1930, in Egeria, West Virginia, to Macie (nee Agee) and William T. Clay.

Elwood served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Professionally, he worked at General Motors for many years. Elwood was well known for his friendly and outgoing personality. He was an avid reader and a great conversationalist. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

Elwood is survived by his sons, William and Joseph Clay and his sister, Wanda Jinol. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 41 years, Widad, and brothers, Homer, Gilbert, Buddy Joe, and Wayne.

A Funeral Service will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Friday at 10:30am. Friends may visit Thursday 3-8pm.

Interment in White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
