Obituary for Elizabeth S. Botos

Elizabeth S. Botos died peacefully at her home in Shelby Twp., surrounded by her family, October 25, 2012. She was 81 years old. Mrs. Botos was born April 15, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Sophie (nee Baldo) and Alexander Maximiuk.

Mrs. Botos was a secretary for General Motors-Fisher Body Plant in Warren for many years and a member of St. John the Baptist Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church in Detroit. She enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, traveling and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She also enjoyed spending winters in Orlando, Florida but her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Mrs. Botos was deeply loved and will be missed by many.

Mrs. Botos is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Nick Botos and daughters, Christine Barker and Catherine (Jeff) Vecore. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Bob, Angela, Beth, Lisa, Kim, Dallas, Melanie, Joseph, and Nick, 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Steve, and brother, Ted Maximiuk.

Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Sunday 2-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Romanian Byzantine Catholic Church, Woodward at 8 Mile Road, Detroit, Monday 10am. Interment in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
