Obituary for Dumitru Simescu

Dumitru Simescu was born in Craiova Romania on August 18, 1940 as the only son of Jana and Ioan Simescu. At two years old he relocated with his family in Bucharest, Romanian Capital. He grew up as a honest and hard working person, loved by his family, well respected by the people he interacted with, and known by his nickname Tache. In 1967 Tache married with Zoe Cristiana Venera, and in 1968 their child Catalin Mihai Simescu was born. Unfortunately Tache lost his wife nine years later, and he took care of his child as a single parent. In 1980 he remarried with Alexandrina Iliescu (Ica) and formed a beautiful family of four, with his newly wife and her child Marian Iliescu. Tache was a wonderful father and set a good example to both kids. In 1991 they imigrated to USA, in Michigan. Not knowing the language, Tache and his family built a new life, but they were always missing his loved ones and friends from back home. In 1998 Tache and Ica went back home to spend their golden years in Bucharest. After few years spent far away from their children and their grandchildren: Octavian Paul, Vincetio Gabriel, Bogdan Alexandru, Christian David si Denisa Giulia, they decided to come back to USA. Despite all of the many health issues that he had he was a strong man and fought for his life until the last minute.

On December 19, 2020 at 5:10 AM, Tache lost his battle and leaves behind beautiful memories and a beautiful life with his family. Dumitru Simescu (Tache) will be missed and always remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, handsome, with a strong character, and a person that never gave up.
Love you Dad. Rest in peace.
