Obituary for Donald J. Nelson
Donald J. Nelson of Bloomfield Hills, died September 2, 1912, in Ann Arbor. He was 82 years old. Don was born March 20, 1930, in Kingsford, Michigan to Margaret (nee Kelly) and Donald Nelson.
Don is survived by his children, Don (Li-Chiu) Nelson, Bruce Nelson, Rick (Kathryn) Nelson, Janet (Dcn. Dave) Lawrence, Douglas Nelson, Kelly (Jerry) Bonar, Andrea (Tom) Best, Katie (Jim) Blaney, John (Laurie) Nelson, and Bob (Allison) Nelson. He is also survived by 32 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and siblings, Merlin (Shirley) Nelson, Alice (the late Willard) Brown, Carol (Leo) Trautner, Mavis (David) Powell, Norma (the late David) Scolattie, Allen (Mary) Nelson, and Patricia (Dein) Nolf. Don is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna, son, Andrew Nelson, sister, Katherine (the late George) Gulash, and brother, Irving (the late Jane) Nelson.
Friends may visit at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road (between 14-15 Mile Rds.) Thursday 4-8pm with a Rosary at 7:30pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Regis Church, 3695 Lincoln at Lahser, Bloomfield Hills, Friday 10:30am. Friends may visit at church beginning at 10am. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Southfield.
