Obituary for Donald Cameron Hardie, Jr.

Cameron died November 1, 2020. He was 64 yrs old. He was born March 18, 1956 in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Bernadine (Waldron) Hardie, sister Laurie (Hardie) Setter and brother-in-law John Setter. He was a longtime resident of Royal Oak, Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda (Baxter) Hardie and brother John (Yvette) Hardie of Boston, Massachusetts. He is also survived by Father-in-law, Richard (Marion) Baxter, sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura (Chuck Leftwich) Baxter, Lisa (Bud) Johnson, Richard (Kathy) Baxter, Leslie (Mike McBeath) Baxter, and Leila (Steve) Parsons. He was preceded in death by sister-in-law, Luanne (Ken) Barnes. Also a beloved uncle to a number of nephews and nieces.

Cameron proudly served in the US Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sargent. He received decorations for sharpshooting and rifle expertise.

He enjoyed golf, bowling, and trips throughout Michigan, as well as many trips to Maine. He was also a devoted dog lover.

A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held at Oakview Cemetery in Royal Oak, Michigan on Thursday, November 5th at 1:00 pm.
